Dunkirk to Darkness
Episode
2 - The Battle of Britain
23rd
October 1940
Dropped into enemy occupied Romania our intrepid heroes are guided to the secret airfield by local resistance fighters.
Here are the 5 agents employed on the mission
Major Roger Roughshod |
Lt. Frazer |
Capt. Danny Burton |
Sgt Major Davies |
Bombadier Beaumont |
To maximise their chances they are making use of the full moon......
Then the resistance fighters melt away, they won't stay for any amount of persuasion!
Briefed and equipped now with our latest experimental items from the research labs.
The Rules used were .45 from Rattrap Productions
with a few fiddling adaptations from me.
The team were to blow up the experimental fighter and contact the defecting pilot - von Luegner

There is the Plane Home! von Luegner is received by Herr Frage of the SS
They team split into two groups:
Roughshod and Burton head for the JU-52 While Frazer Davies and Beaumont sneak along the hanger.
Meanwhile the Germans seem to be having a roll call..and then they are being marched into a compound..
von Luegner seems to be getting the grand tour of the Jet Hanger
Overhead views of the Hanger and Workshops
But as the Moon breaks through the clouds all Hell breaks loose!
The Guards scarper and our Heroes are left battling for their lives!
Weight of fire and the chance discovery of a box of silver bullets gives our heroes the edge and one by one the beasts fall...
With the guards fleeing and the last Nazi Dog-soldier closing in Beaumont sacrifices himself, detonating the explosives with a huge explosion in the hanger! Taking Herr Frage and a fearsome beast with him to Hell! While Sgt Major Davies legs it for the plane!
von Luegner runs to the plane which by now has the engines running and successfully takes off, with the remaining agents. Both Davies and Burton have sustained bite wounds!
Back in Blighty via Tripoli Major Roughshod addresses the men:-
Chaps,
Well done to all,
Of course we must not forget that S.O.F.A. lost a chap last night. With
typical selfless British pluck, and with no thought for his own safety, and for
the unconscious Hun, one of our brave British commandos destroyed a Top Secret
Nazi Fighter!
Clearly, the mission, and the game, was a complete success, with the Evil Hun
special projects abominations being slain by British ingenuity and silver
bullets. Even though we took casualties, our brave injured soldiers,
Captain Burton and Sgt Major Davies, have been granted indefinite leave to
cooperate with the scientists at Porton Down and a special 48-hour pass every
lunar month, lucky beggars!
Chin up, and well done to all!
Maj Roughshot.
